| Facebook recently acquired Instagram for a cool $1 billion, turning all of the employees into instant millionaires, and turning Instagram into just another facet of Facebook's growing presence on the Web. While Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has promised to keep Instagram going as an independent entity, there are bound to be changes made to the way Instagram operates at some point in the future. For this reason, the acquisition hasn't gone down too well amongst the core users of the photo-sharing/social networking app (which recently came to Android as well as iOS). In light of Facebook buying Instagram, and the negative responses the acquisition has garnered from some, there is one question that really needs asking. This Week's Question… What Are The Best Alternatives To Instagram? Instagram has built a name for itself, and a healthy millions-strong userbase, as a result of being damn good at what it does. Which is that it offers a range of filters to add class or uniqueness to a photo taken with a smartphone, and the seamless ability to share that creation with a multitude of social networks – including its own. But there are alternatives out there; rivals which have noted the success of Instagram and tried to build a similar service. And we want to know what the best of these Instagram alternatives are. Which do you use? Have you tried several out? This is especially directed at Android users who were inscrutably forced to wait 18 months for their own version of the app. Will you be sticking with Instagram through thick and thin? What would make you turn your back on the service and look elsewhere?
