| Amazon is getting ready to roll out the Kindle Touch internationally, and is issuing a free firmware update for all Kindle Touch owners. The new version number is 5.1.0, and it adds additional languages, instant translations, better Wi-Fi, sharing options, and more. The update will be rolling out wirelessly over the next few days, but if you are eager to get it now, you can grab it from Amazon. The new interface languages are English (US and UK), German, French, Spanish, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese. Instant translations are powered by Bing, and support Spanish, Japanese, and other languages. This update also brings the Kindle Touch keyboard in line with other modern touch keyboards, incorporating word suggestions to make typing faster (an important feature, given the relatively slow refresh rate of the e-ink display). To see whether your Kindle Touch is already running the new update, go to the home screen (by pressing the physical Home button), and then tap Menu > Settings . On the Settings screen, tap Menu > Device Info . If your Kindle Touch is running the latest and greatest, you should be seeing this: Of course, you will have a different serial number, and an actual MAC address that is not all zeroes.
