4 New Distributions Added to Our Best of Linux Distros Page

If you're new to Linux and are unsure of which flavour of Linux to use, our Best of Linux Distro page is the ultimate source to get you started. We've taken only the best Linux distros and arranged them in several categories for your picking. During our latest update, we added 4 new distributions to the page: Under General Use , we threw in: Slackware – one of the oldest living distributions, Slackware allows plenty of configuration and is a great general-use distribution. It requires some knowledge of Linux and isn't recommended for new users. Gentoo – A general-purpose distribution that is centered around machine-specific optimization. Until recently, all software was compiled on the system rather than installing binaries. Not recommended for new users. For minimalists , we included Bodhi Linux , a great lightweight alternative for systems that can't run other desktop environments. Still very functional and relatively elegant. And finally, one of two preferred enterprise systems for most Linux administrators, SUSE Enterprise Linux was added to the Commercial section. Visit our Best of Linux Distro page to view the complete list of recommended Linux distributions. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to let us know through your comments.
